The Mega Buck$ Lottery
Version 1.4
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
an IGM for Seth Able's LORD
Written In TP 7
Using the DDPlus package
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Technical Instructions (docs)
[legal stuff]
I own this. (uhh, copyright 1996 Illusion Software).
If you use this software, you do so at your own risk. I've spent several
versions testing it and retesting it. Works great on my board. Seems to
be completely flawless. If you have problems at all with it, you can
either contact me at the given places, or just delete the thing completely
from your system. What did you expect? It's almost freeware.
In any case, if it breaks, it's not my legal responsibility. The only thing
this IGM is guaranteed to do is take up space on your drive. Period.
[end of legal stuff]
-What is it?-
The MBL is an IGM for LORD in which users are given a chance to buy
a ticket to win the lottery. (see the registration section for further
information).
-What do I do?-
UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION
Just copy the .EXEs over the old ones and you're done!
NEW INSTALLATION
Unzip it into it's own directory, run the CONFIG program, and follow
the instructions. If it screws up, you did something wrong. :)
YOU MUST RUN THE CONFIG.EXE PROGRAM BEFORE ANYTHING WILL WORK!
AND DON'T RUN THE CONFIG PROGRAM WHILE THE IGM IS IN USE!
Very little explanation needed for the config proggie. Read the
options and fill in the blanks as neccessary. If you aren't
registered, don't worry about anything except filling in the
paths to LORD and to the Lottery. The rest will reset to defaults
without a valid reg code.
-What should be in the Archive?-
Well, if you have the original archive this is the list in it:
CONFIG.EXE - The configuration program.
LOTTERY.EXE - The main executable. The actual IGM.
LOTTERY.DOC - You're Reading This One.
WHATS.NEW - Update information, bugfix listing.
FILE_ID.DIZ - Description for your bbs file lists.
and these files are created after the config program has been run and
the IGM has been used once.
DRAW.DAT - Keeps track of what day it is, and if a
draw needs to be done.
LOTTERY.DAT - This is the config file. Has lots of stuff
in it relating to the operation of the igm.
-What does it cost?- (Registration Info)
The MBL is donationware. That means you can send whatever you feel
that the IGM is worth to you. Do not send cash through the mail!
There are a few limitations to the unregistered version of MBL.
- the initial jackpots are fixed at 1 million gold.
- ticket price is fixed at 25 thousand gold.
- maximum tickets per draw is 25.
These can all be changed in the registered version of the MBL and
registration will display your name in the title screen. Your reg
code will work with all future version of the MBL and don't forget
that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you know you're supporting the
shareware concept.
-Okay, so how DO I contact you?-
Alright, if you must contact me do so as indicated below:

You can also try posting me in the LORD and LORD_SYSOP (echo tags I think)
Fido echoes, and if the message makes it through all the routing points,
I'll be sure to get back to you asap.
The newest version of this IGM is available for FREQ from my fido address
(given above) using the magic name LOTTERY.
-Will you write me a custom IGM?-
If you really do want something for your board, drop me a note
at one of the above places and I'll get back to you on it. I'm
always willing to write some code. NO cracks, hacks, patches
etc etc. I'm not a hacker. I have no desire to start now. For
some strange reason, I have an aversion to losing my equipment
to the SPA. Call me weird, but I believe in shareware, and don't
like to see cracked versions of stuff floating around.
Thanks go to these guys:
Steve Lorenz, Bob Dalton, and Scott Baker for the DDPlus Package. Kudos.
Seth Able Robinson for his great and long lived doorgame LORD. more kudos.
Joseph Masters for the view of his Aratime source codes. big help dude.
And once again, thanks to Pepsi. 4 to 6 weeks my butt. sigh....
-=-=-=- I know these docs aren't the greatest, but I think you get -=-=-=-
the general idea of what this product is all about. If you
can do better, send me your text, I'll give you a free reg
if I like your work, and you'll get credit in the docs!
